Pay: $35 - $45 per hour (DOE)

Location: 7809 Schelhorn Rd, Alexandria, VA 22306

Schedule: Full-Time (8 hours per day, 5 days per week, Flexible) Every other weekend required.

 

Are you ready to create joy and heal generations? Embark Behavioral Health is opening a brand new short-term residential treatment center for adolescents in Alexandria VA, and we are seeking compassionate and skilled nurses to provide exceptional care to our students!

 

At our short-term residential center, you'll be the compassionate first responder when a teen reports pain or sickness, assessing their needs and determining the best care plan. Your day will include checking vital signs, distributing medications, and keeping meticulous records. Whether accompanying a student to the clinic, communicating with parents, or coordinating lab draws, you'll be their advocate, creating a safe, healing environment. Responsibilities

  • Assess and respond to students' reports of pain or sickness
  • Determine the need for sick bed placement
  • Accompany students to clinics and communicate with parents and the Nursing Manager
  • Check vital signs, disperse medications, and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor and chart students' mood, behavior, and affect
  • Correlate lab draws and administer TB tests
  • Count and track narcotics every shift
  • Communicate medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required Skills and Certifications:

     

    • Licensed as an RN or LPN in Virginia
    • CPR Certification
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, techniques, and legal charting
    • Experience in medication administration and using nursing tools
    • Ability to check vital signs and communicate medical situations accurately to students, parents, and co-workers
    • Experience with health insurance submission processes and word processing software
