Come join a diverse and inclusive team that is dedicated to supporting young adults in our community. We are looking for an RN for our Klamath Falls, Oregon Short-Term Residential facility!

 

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible to care for medical emergencies and for the general medical support of the students and be supported by an experienced leadership team, Clinical Director, Executive Director, and Administrative Team that are all focused on the mission to facilitate lasting positive change for young people and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Update and track students' medication lists in BestNotes, including current, discontinued, and titration schedules.
  • Ensure prescriptions are accurately filled, up-to-date, and managed with correct insurance information.
  • Establish care with primary care physicians for prescription needs, including birth control, hormones, and thyroid medications.
  • Monitor lab results, student vitals, and communicate follow-up instructions and any significant weight changes with the care team.
  • Create and maintain Medication Administration Records (MARs), tracking side effects, daily health checks, and medication errors.
  • Conduct medication training for new staff and educate students about their medications, including appropriate administration, contraindications, and side effects.
  • Ensure safe storage and disposal of medications, maintaining documentation and tracking over-the-counter medications.
  • Coordinate and document medical appointments, ensuring parental approval and communicating pertinent medical information to the treatment team.
  • Participate in a rotating schedule for med-pass shifts, on-call responsibilities, and managing psychiatrist visits and other medical logistics.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a nursing license (RN) and current CPR certification. Nursing experience is required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work as a positive team member through ongoing collaboration with Embark Klamath Falls staff as well as families and outside professionals
  • Superior organization skills
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam, pre-employment urine drug test, state and federal background checks
