Director of Clinical Partnerships

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 per year depending on experience

Looking for a mission-driven career that provides a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose?

Embark Behavioral Health is hiring a mission-driven outreach professional to help families find life-changing care. As the Director of Clinical Partnerships (DCP), you’ll focus on building referral relationships with hospitals, schools, and mental health providers to support enrollment for our Walnut Creek program and other local and virtual programs.

This role focuses on strategic business development and collaboration, rather than managing a team directly.  It involves frequent travel within the territory, connecting with referral partners, attending events, and presenting Embark’s full continuum of care. Occasional evening and weekend work is required, with flexible scheduling available.

Join us in reversing the trends of adolescent anxiety, depression, and suicide while helping families in crisis find the support they need!

* Please note, this is not a remote position. This is an in person position in the DC Metro area that requires our employees to be in the field at least 4 days a week. *

Responsibilities

Outreach and Business Development
The DCP plays a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a robust network of referral partners to achieve program enrollment goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Partnership Building - Develop and sustain relationships with referral sources such as hospitals, mental health professionals, treatment organizations, schools, and community-based organizations; while positioning yourself as a trusted mental health placement expert in the community

  • Activity Standards - Maintain weekly outreach activity standards to ensure consistent engagement and pipeline growth

  • Admissions and Referral Coordination: Partner with admissions teams and referral sources to achieve quarterly admissions goals and provide expert guidance in response to inquiries from parents and referral partners.

  • Outreach Planning and Documentation: Develop a strategic outreach plan by documenting target referral accounts, tracking engagement progress, and managing a comprehensive resource list to support clinic operations.

  • Professional Engagement - Participate in conferences, professional development events, and site visits to stay current with industry trends, expand referral networks, and foster collaborative relationships.

  • Brand and Messaging Support - Assist the program with brand messaging, ensuring consistent and compelling communication with stakeholders.

  • Team Participation - Actively participate in weekly DCP meetings with video presence to collaborate and align on strategies.

This role requires strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to travel as needed to meet outreach and business development goals.

Qualifications

  • Local and Travel Requirements: Candidates must be based in the DC Metro area and use a personal vehicle for frequent business travel.
  • Education and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a minimum of 2–3 years in business development or sales within industries working with adolescents (e.g., behavioral health, hospitals, pharma).
