Residential Mentor

 

Compensation: $21.25-$24/hour

 

Schedule: Full-time & Part-time positions available 

 

Full-time: 3 10-hour shifts per week- Sun-Tues 12:30-11pm (subject to change)

    • Flexibility to schedule additional shifts to achieve 40 hours/week
    • Rotating monthly 12-hour Saturday shift

Part-time: 3 6-hour shifts per week- Sun-Tues or Wed-Fri 5-11pm 

    • Flexibility to pick up additional shifts as desired

On-call/as needed: No set schedule/guaranteed hours

    • Fill in during staff absences, emergencies, or increased client needs. 
    • Ideal for candidates with flexible availability who are willing to pick up last minute shifts

Opportunity for Advancement:

  • Incremental raises of $0.50 and $1.00 at 6 and 12 months respectively with participation in mastery training program (full-time/part-time positions only)

Embark Behavioral Health Bend is seeking dedicated, compassionate Residential Mentors to join our exceptional team. If you are passionate about making a positive impact and have a background or interest in mental health, residential treatment, psychology, social services, direct care or support roles, QMHAs or related fields, we invite you to apply.

 

As a Residential Mentor, you will provide supervision, guidance and support to our clients, fostering a safe and structured environment conducive to their emotional and behavioral growth. Our approach integrates experiential activities, animal interaction, academic support, and interpersonal skill-building to help youth and their families achieve holistic wellness.

 

About Us: Located in Bend, Oregon, our residential treatment facility caters to teens aged 10-17 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our family-style residence promotes community engagement and interpersonal development, facilitating a supportive environment for healing and growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and emotional well-being of clients through consistent monitoring and documentation
  • Uphold program structure by enforcing boundaries and maintaining a supportive environment
  • Facilitate clear communication and documentation to ensure seamless team coordination
  • Respond to client crisis by implementing de-escalation skills and training
  • Support kitchen by heating/serving meals on occasion
  • Participate in extracurricular activities with youth such as arts, crafts, sports, outdoor activities, etc.
  • Contribute to residential upkeep, animal care, or administrative tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications, or ability to get certified
  • Embrace and embody our core values of empathy, trust, service, growth, and results
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Proficiency in de-escalating emotionally or behaviorally dysregulated individuals
  • Effective planning, implementation, and adaptability
  • Punctuality, organization, and reliability

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in a residential or direct care role with youth
