Residential Mentor

Compensation: $21.25-$24/hr, $23.25-$26/hr (overnight)

 

Full-time & Part-time positions available 

 

Full-time: 

  • 4 10-hour awake overnight shifts per week- Tues-Fri 10pm-8am
  • $23.25-26/hr

Part-time:

  • 3 6-hour shifts per week- Sun-Tues or Wed-Fri 5-11pm
  • $21.25-24/hr 
  • Flexibility to pick up additional shifts as desired

On-call/as needed: No set schedule/guaranteed hours

  • $21.25-24/hr 
  • Fill in during staff absences, emergencies, or increased client needs. 
  • Ideal for candidates with flexible availability who are willing to pick up last minute shifts

Opportunity for Advancement:

  • Incremental raises of $0.50 and $1.00 at 6 and 12 months respectively

Perks:

  • $3.00 - $6.00 shift differential for short notice or night shift coverage

Embark Behavioral Health Bend is looking for reliable, skilled and empathetic Residential Mentors that want to make a difference and be part of an amazing team. As a Residential Mentor, you will provide supervision, guidance and support to our clients, fostering a safe and structured environment conducive to their emotional and behavioral growth. 

 

A great position for those seeking work in mental health, the psychology field, social & human services, experience with inpatient healthcare facilities, and direct support professionals.

 

About Us: Located in Bend, Oregon, our residential treatment facility caters to teens aged 10-17 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our family-style residence promotes community engagement and interpersonal development, facilitating a supportive environment for healing and growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and emotional well-being of clients through consistent monitoring and documentation
  • Uphold program structure by enforcing boundaries and maintaining a supportive environment
  • Facilitate clear communication and documentation to ensure seamless team coordination
  • Respond to client crisis by implementing de-escalation skills and training
  • Provide academic assistance to students as they fulfill schooling requirements
  • Support kitchen by heating/serving meals on occasion
  • Participate in extracurricular activities with youth such as arts, crafts, sports, outdoor activities, etc.
  • Contribute to residential upkeep, animal care, or administrative tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Proficiency in de-escalating emotionally or behaviorally dysregulated individuals
  • Effective planning, implementation, and adaptability
