Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Hourly Pay Rate: $90 hr - $120 hr (Depending on experience)

Part-Time: 5 hours per week

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be supported by an experienced leadership team, Clinical Director, Executive Director, and Administrative Team that are all focused on the mission to facilitate lasting positive change for young people and their families.

General Summary

Responsible to care for medical emergencies and for the general medical support of the adolescents and youn adults.

1. Provide psychiatric services
2. Prescribe medications (Controlled medications as well.)
3. Respond to reports of pain or sickness as they arise and assess the student
4. Determine when a student is to be placed on sick bed due to illness or pain
5. Accompany students to clinic or hospital should the situation arise; communicate findings to the students' parents and to the Clinical Director
6. Check the vital signs and weight of students as assigned
7. Monitor students in regard to mood, behavior and affect, and then chart the findings. (Particularly when a student is starting a new medication)
8. Communicate any pertinent medical information to the Treatment Team and the Psychiatrist either verbally or in written form
9. Co-facilitate psychoeducation group
10. Attend weekly treatment team meeting
11. Other duties as assigned

1. Experience prescribing meds and all around medical provider experience
2. Knowledge of standard medical terminology and technique
3. Knowledge of legal charting procedure and requirements
4. Knowledge of company policies and practices
5. Skill in using nursing tools and equipment (e.g., needles, thermometers, diagnostic tests, stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, etc.)
6. Skill in assessing the physical condition of the students
7. Skill in communicating medical situations accurately to students, parents, and co-workers
8. Ability to use word processing software and to navigate networks
9. Experience or knowledge of health insurance submission processes
10. Ability to check vital signs

The position requires an active CA NP license, a driver license, and current CPR certification. Nursing experience is required.
