Position Type: Temporary (Full-time or Part-time)

Pay rate: $21.25-23/hour

Duration: 1-2 months, with potential for permanent position

 

Preffered Schedule:

 

Full-time position- 

Mon-Tues 2-6:30pm

Wed-Fri 9:30am-6:30pm 

 

Part-time position-

Wed-Fri 9:30am-6:30pm

Embark Behavioral Health Bend is looking for a reliable full-time OR part-time cook. We provide 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks to our clients and the staff members that work with them (currently around 14-18 people). 

 

About Us: Located in Bend, Oregon, our residential treatment facility caters to teens aged 10-14 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our family-style residence promotes community engagement and interpersonal development, facilitating a supportive environment for healing and growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and serving of nutritious, homemade meals and snacks for up to 20 people, accounting for a variety of dietary needs at each meal
  • Keeping all areas of the kitchen and dining hall clean and sanitized, responsible for doing dishes for all assigned meals
  • Ensure that all food preparation, storage and cleaning practices follow health department regulations
  • Develop and maintain positive, healthy relationships with clients and staff

Qualifications

  • 21+ years of age 
  • Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Current driver's license & clean driving record
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Current Oregon Food Handlers certification
  • Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience preparing and cooking high quality, healthy food and accommodating various dietary needs
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and nutritional standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate, build healthy relationships and hold appropriate boundaries
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Positive attitude, flexibility and ability to both work independently and be a team player
  • Timeliness, organization, and reliability

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 year of experience working in a residential setting
  • Experience working with youth and/or cooking for 15+ people preferred
