PRN Registered Nurse: On-call (12 hours per week average)

Hours: Shift schedules will vary depending on program needs and will typically be either 6 or 12 hours in length. 

Hourly pay rate: $25.00 to $36.00

Embark's Stabilization and Assessment program is a short-term residential treatment center serving highly acute adolescent boys ages 12–17 and their families. Located in the stunning red rock landscape of Hurricane, Utah—just outside Zion National Park—our campus offers more than just treatment; we create a warm, supportive, home-like environment focused on healing and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students reporting pain or illness and determine need for sick bed.

  • Accompany students to clinics or hospitals as needed; communicate findings to parents and Clinical Director.

  • Take and record vital signs and weights as assigned.

  • Administer medications accurately and document in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).

  • Count and track narcotics during each shift.

  • Monitor and chart student mood, behavior, and affect—especially when starting new medications.

  • Share relevant medical updates with the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist.

  • Support night staff in student care as needed.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain or update CAQH profile and obtain NPI number for credentialing

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Proficient in medical terminology, nursing techniques, and legal charting requirements.

  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and company protocols.

  • Skilled in using standard nursing tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Strong ability to assess students' physical conditions and check vital signs.

  • Effective communicator with students, parents, and staff regarding medical situations.

  • Basic computer skills, including word processing and network navigation.

  • Familiarity with health insurance submission processes.
