Embark Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, mission‑driven Clinical Director to lead our Ashburn OP/IOP/PHP clinic. This role is ideal for a seasoned mental health leader who is passionate about elevating clinical quality, coaching multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that teens, young adults, and families receive exceptional evidence‑based care.

We’re looking for a fully licensed mental health therapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) who is currently approved—or eligible to become approved—to provide clinical supervision in the state of Virginia, guiding emerging clinicians and strengthening our clinical culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight across OP, IOP, and PHP levels of care to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based treatment.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise therapists, fostering professional development and promoting clinical excellence.
  • Build a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, accountability, and trauma‑informed care.
  • Partner with program leadership to strengthen outcomes, refine workflows, and support sustainable program growth.
  • Model compassionate, ethical decision‑making and serve as a stabilizing presence for clients, families, and clinicians.
  • Support strategic initiatives, uphold regulatory compliance, and ensure accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications

Licensure (Virginia):

  • LCSW, LPC, or LMFT (fully licensed) in Virginia required.
  • Licensure in Maryland or D.C. is a plus.
  • Candidates must obtain/maintain an NPI and CAQH profile during onboarding.

Clinical Supervision Eligibility (Virginia Requirements):

To provide supervision to provisionally licensed clinicians, the Virginia Boards require:

  • At least two years of post‑licensure clinical experience
  • Completion of board‑approved clinical supervision training, which may include:
    • Three semester hours (or four quarter hours) of graduate‑level coursework in clinical supervision OR
    • A minimum of 20 hours of continuing education (CE) in clinical supervision from an approved provider
  • For LCSWs specifically: three graduate credit hours OR at least 14 hours of CE in supervision within five years of applying for supervisor status

Candidates who are close to completing these requirements—or actively pursuing Virginia’s supervisor designation—are strongly encouraged to apply.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health discipline.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance – Multiple plan options including PPO and HDHPs with HSA eligibility and company contributions.
  • Paid Parental Leave – Up to 6 weeks fully paid for exempt employees and 4 weeks for non-exempt.
  • Life & Disability Coverage – Company-paid life, AD&D, and long-term disability; voluntary life and optional short-term disability available.
  • 401(k) with Company Match – Retirement savings with matching contributions after eligibility period.
  • PTO & Holidays – Competitive PTO accrual plans and paid holidays throughout the year.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Free, confidential support for life’s challenges.
