Pay: $17 to $18 per hour

Location: 3205 N Twyman Rd, Independence, MO 64058 

Full-Time Schedule:

  • Friday 11am to 7pm
  • Saturday to Sunday 9am to 5pm
  • Monday to Tuesday 6am to 2pm
    • Enjoy Wednesdays and Thursdays off!

 

As a Prep Cook at Embark Independenceyou’ll contribute to a welcoming and engaging environment within our residential program for teenagers. In this role, you’ll work alongside the culinary team to prepare fresh, nutritious meals that play an important part in each student’s day.

 

Every day, you'll handle daily meal preparation, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and help ensure mealtimes run efficiently. Your work shapes the day‑to‑day experience of students and helps create a setting where they can stay focused and engaged in their treatment. By bringing a professional approach and aligning with our core values, you’ll have a meaningful impact, starting with a well‑prepared meal and a friendly presence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion meals alongside the Chef to support both students and staff

  • Assist with prepping ingredients and meals in advance for weekends, keeping things smooth and stress-free for the team.

  • Take pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and safe, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste, because great meals start with a great space.

  • Bring a positive attitude to the kitchen and dining area, helping students feel comfortable and cared for with every meal served.

  • Step in for additional hours as needed, especially during busy mornings or when others are out, to help keep things running smoothly. 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • 1 year of cooking experience, preferred.
