Embark Behavioral Health is seeking an Admissions Counselor to guide families through the intake process for residential treatment for their teenagers. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted point of contact for caregivers during a pivotal moment, helping them understand their options and confidently take the next step toward care. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, manage a high volume of calls, and ensure admissions are handled accurately and efficiently. Your work will play a meaningful role in connecting youth and families to the support they need.
Educate families about Embark’s services and continuum of care, assess student fit, present cases to the clinical team, and advocate for both the student and their family throughout the admissions process
Provide informed consent to prospective families by reviewing insurance benefits, financial responsibility, and the creation of good faith estimates
Plan and coordinate admissions logistics in collaboration with the Admissions Director, onsite teams, and prospective families while balancing Average Daily Census (ADC) and minimum wait time goals.
Assist with case management up to 1–4 hours per week, supporting residents in SUD services and state placements, completing documentation, and coordinating calls between residents and external providers
Work in collaboration with the Admissions Director to maintain awareness of bed space availability and census needs to relevant stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Admissions Director, serve as a communication bridge between the clinical team, utilization review team, and leadership teams by sharing updates, trends, and strategic insights to better the admissions experience for enrolling families.
Document all calls, emails, and activities with prospective families efficiently in Sales Force, and collect accurate and timely payment from families upon admission.
Organize and lead family and referral partner tours in partnership with the Director of Clinical Partnership (DCP) and on-site team.
Provide appropriate resources and referrals to families who are not a fit for Embark programs.
Work closely with the Admissions and Executive Director to determine admissions and programmatic needs and problem solve accordingly.
Provide support for a few hours one weekend per month, as needed.
